Remote Session Engineering
Source Connect coordination, Zoom-directed sessions, real-time Pro Tools editing, and broadcast-ready delivery — for agencies and production companies nationwide.

Dallas Audio Post provides professional remote session engineering for advertising agencies, production companies, and post-production supervisors nationwide from our purpose-built facility in Dallas—Fort Worth, Texas. Our engineering team manages all Source Connect coordination, Zoom connectivity, and Pro Tools recording — so you can focus on the creative, not the tech. Central Time Zone scheduling works for both coasts: a 10am session in Dallas is 8am in LA and 11am in New York.
How a Remote Session Works
You Book, We Prep
Send us your brief, scripts, and picture (if applicable). Our producer confirms scope and schedules the session. We handle all Source Connect coordination with your talent and pre-build the Pro Tools session.
You Direct, We Engineer
Your agency joins via Zoom with low-latency, high-frame-rate picture playback. Talent connects via Source Connect. Our engineer records, edits in real time, and manages all routing. You direct the performance as if you were in the room.
We Deliver, Same Day
After wrap, we mix to broadcast spec and deliver files via our secure Massive portal. Formatted Pro Tools sessions, BWAV masters, and MP3 references — whatever your workflow requires. Most commercial sessions deliver same day.
Remote sessions support a range of recording services. Most commonly, agencies use our remote engineering for directed voiceover sessions and commercial voiceover production. Film and television productions book ADR recording with actors connecting from anywhere in the world. For clients who need to review mixes remotely, our remote mix approvals workflow provides low-latency streaming with timecode sync.
Preparing to send media? Our technical guides show you how to export Pro Tools-ready sessions: AAF from Adobe Premiere and AAF from DaVinci Resolve. These workflows ensure we can start your session immediately without offline media or missing tracks. For longform post-production workflows, remote sessions integrate seamlessly with our audio mixing and sound design services.

Remote Session FAQ
How does a remote directed session work at Dallas Audio Post?
Your talent connects to our studio via Source Connect from anywhere in the world. Your agency or production team joins via Zoom with low-latency, high-frame-rate picture playback. Our engineer runs the Pro Tools session — recording, editing in real time, and managing all technical routing. You direct the performance as if you were in the room. After wrap, we deliver broadcast-ready files, often same day.
Do you work with remote voice talent?
Yes. We regularly record remote voice talent using Source Connect, including sessions where talent, producers, and clients are all in different locations. The talent can be anywhere — our engineering team handles all connectivity, routing, and full-resolution backup recording so you always have a clean master.
What is Source Connect and why does it matter?
Source Connect is a professional audio connection protocol used by studios worldwide. Unlike Zoom or phone patches, Source Connect transmits broadcast-quality audio in real time with automatic full-resolution backup recording. This means the audio captured at Dallas Audio Post is identical quality whether the talent is in our booth or connecting remotely. We run Source Connect Pro on dedicated infrastructure for maximum reliability.
How does playback-to-picture work during a remote session?
Video is streamed to Zoom at high frame rate with low latency. Audio comes directly from the Pro Tools session routed into Zoom at full quality — not a degraded screen share. This means the agency and their end client hear the spot exactly as it will sound in the final mix, in sync with picture.
What time zone is Dallas Audio Post in?
Dallas Audio Post is in the Central Time Zone (CT). This works well for remote sessions with both coasts — a 10am session in Dallas is 8am in Los Angeles and 11am in New York. We regularly run sessions for agencies in DC, Portland, New York, Los Angeles, and across the country.
Is remote recording treated differently than in-studio sessions?
No. Remote sessions are handled with the same creative standards, technical discipline, and professional engineering as in-studio work. The same microphones, the same signal chain, the same engineer. The only difference is where the director is sitting.
